Mr. Levings assumed his current role as President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2015. Prior to that Mr. Levings served in the roles of Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, as well as Senior Vice President, Chief Operations Officer and Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer. Mr. Levings joined Sagen MI Canada in July 2000 as the Financial Controller and has also held positions in finance and product development, including five years as Chief Financial Officer. Before that, Mr. Levings spent seven years with Deloitte & Touche.
Mr. Levings holds a CPA, CA professional designation with over 20 years of professional experience in a variety of industry sectors. Mr. Levings holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from the University of South Africa and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.


Full Name: Jim Spitali
Title: Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer — Sagen
Jim is a senior executive with more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. Since joining Sagen in 2015, he has advanced through a series of senior leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Operations and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, before being appointed Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer in November 2023. Under his leadership, Jim and his team have played a pivotal role in positioning Sagen as Canada’s largest mortgage insurer, driving sustainable growth and operational excellence with a customer-first mindset.
Prior to joining Sagen, Jim built a diverse career in retail banking, wealth management, and sales strategy through leadership positions at CIBC and Meridian Credit Union. Beyond his corporate leadership, he is committed to developing the next generation of business leaders as a faculty member at the Pilon School of Business at Sheridan College, where he teaches in both the Finance and Marketing programs. Jim holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Brock University and a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University.

Kate is responsible for all aspects of FCT’s residential lending solutions business, including product development, sales, product marketing and lender management. A 20-year veteran of the Canadian mortgage industry, Kate is one of its most respected thought leaders. She is a passionate advocate for lenders, brokers and borrowers, working to shape a mortgage industry that puts people first.
Kate has built expertise in numerous aspects of the lending business in her career at FCT, and she brings the lessons she’s learned from all of them to developing new solutions for lending professionals. Not one to rest on past accomplishments, Kate keeps a constant focus on the customer experience and inspires her colleagues to find new ways it can be improved.

With more than 30 years in the mortgage industry, Mary’s dedication and appreciation for developing lifelong client relationships began early. Her career started in the branch network at Meridian Credit Union (formerly HEPCOE), where she learned the value and importance of customer service, later working in real estate and earning her Certified Financial Planner designation.In 2006, Mary joined Canada Guaranty, playing a pivotal role in establishing a successful new default insurer while strengthening industry relationships and strategic lender integrations. As Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, she oversees all aspects of Canada Guaranty’s customer base, recognized as a champion of clients and a leader who fosters collaboration and excellence.Known for her energy, integrity, and hands-on leadership style, Mary is dedicated to supporting mortgage professionals with the tools and insights they need to better serve today’s homebuyers. Her contributions extend beyond Canada Guaranty, as she continues to share her time and expertise across the industry and community. In recognition of her impact and commitment, Mary was inducted into the Canadian Mortgage Hall of Fame in 2023.

Eddy began his mortgage and lending career over 25 years ago at Canada Trust before becoming a Mortgage Specialist at CIBC in 1997. In 1999 Eddy joined CMHC in Business Development, learning the ins and outs of the insurance side of the industry. Eddy became a mortgage broker with Assured Mortgages in 2004 where he quickly grew a successful book of business before being presented with an opportunity to help GE Money enter the Canadian market in 2005 Eddy was instrumental in growing the GE Money business, as his role was heavily focused on both sales and product development. Further, as VP of Sales, Eddy effectually represented the Canadian business at GE Money’s International Mortgage Conferences held in London England, Florence Italy and Burbank California, alongside over 22 other countries. Eddy’s career then moved back to CIBC as VP of Sales, Firstline Access before accepting the Presidents role at The Mortgage Centre in 2008.
With his exceptional leadership of MCC for more than 10 years, Eddy proved he can lead a high-caliber network and moved into to President of Dominion Lending Centres. As of December 2023, Eddy now is the President of DLCG with a focus on growth and helping implement the tools, products, services and technology that the over 8,400 mortgage professionals count on to help grow their businesses.

Elaine Taylor is a trailblazer in Canada’s mortgage industry with over four decades of leadership experience. She currently serves as Managing Director of Full-Service Brokerages at M3 Group and President of Mortgage Alliance, overseeing the Mortgage Alliance, Invis, and Mortgage Intelligence networks. Elaine has built her career on strategic vision, collaboration, and a deep commitment to advancing the mortgage broker channel.
Her path began in residential real estate relocation before moving into leadership roles with HLC (CIBC) and later MCAP, where she spent 16 years as part of the executive team, championing broker–lender partnerships. In 2022, Elaine joined M3 Group, where she continues to drive growth and innovation across Canada’s most recognized brokerage brands. She has also been a dedicated industry leader, serving as a Director and later Chair of Mortgage Professionals Canada (2019–2020), guiding the association through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, while also contributing to AMBA, MPC committees, and as a founding member of Women in the Mortgage Industry (WIMI).
Elaine’s impact has been recognized through numerous honours, including the Women in the Mortgage Industry Award of Recognition, five-time CMP Woman of Influence, induction into the Canadian Mortgage Hall of Fame (2022), recognition on the Mortgage Global 100 (2023), and most recently, induction into the CMBA Ontario Hall of Fame (2025).
